SCI provided historical, geotechnical, and agricultural information to be used to develop alternative alignments for an approximate 35-mile transportation corridor. SCI consulted the National Register of Historic Places database and coordinated with local historic agencies to identify buildings, structures, and cemeteries that are historic or potentially historic. The entire corridor was surveyed for historic structures, and the potentially historic and historic structures were indicated on maps illustrating the project corridor. The Illinois Department of Agriculture was consulted for information regarding centennial and sesquicentennial farms. Regional bedrock was identified and existing boring logs were examined. Additionally, SCI provided assistance at all public involvement meetings.
