SCI has been involved with the growth of SSM St. Joseph facilities dating back more than 20 years. Geotechnical services were provided for the main St. Joseph Health Center and we have provided subsurface explorations for the Medical Park, located in St. Charles County, which featured construction of two four-story medical buildings on an 18-acre site. SCI analyzed the soil samples and made comprehensive recommendations regarding seismic design considerations, site drainage and grading, and general site development. The total construction cost for this development was approximately $10 million.

SCI also provided construction phase services for this project which included delineating the areas within the building pads that required remediation due to high plastic clays, monitoring and testing compaction of structural fill, and observation and testing of concrete and structural steel.
