Costco Wholesale
St. Peters, Missouri
SCI provided several services at the site of this large retail development. The site was approximately 33½ acres, with the Costco facility constructed on 15 acres. Removal of several retail developments and a private residence was necessary before construction could begin. It was also necessary to drain and fill a three-acre lake, over which part of the Costco was built. SCI provided sounding depths of the existing lake to determine how much structural fill was needed. SCI also provided extensive settlement calculations due to varying conditions, including a section of the area in the Mississippi River flood plain.
Environmental services included a Phase One Environmental Site Assessment for nine separate Parcels as well as asbestos services for four separate building sites.
Natural Resource services included willow and shrub planting at the site to comply with the provisions of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. SCI also monitored any erosion of the bed and banks of the entire Spencer Creek channel for three years and provided annual monitoring of the planted riparian corridor along the channel as required in the Section 404 permit.
