SCI Wins The National ACRA Quality Product Award for a Large Project

SCI Engineering, Inc. (SCI) received the National ACRA Quality Product Award for a Large Project for its cultural resource work on the investigations of Captain Joseph Naper's Homestead Site project in the recent awards competition sponsored by the American Cultural Resources Association (ACRA).

This is ACRA's annual national award for projects over $50,000. The project involved archaeological investigations to yield information reflecting the growth of Joseph Naper's settlement into Naperville, Illinois for the Naperville Heritage Society. Joseph Naper founded what is now the state's fourth largest city in 1831.

This competitive award was presented at the organization's 13th Annual Conference in recognition "of a high quality product from a large project." The award was presented by ACRA President Michael Polk. Accepting the award for SCI was Steve Dasovich, Ph.D., Head of Cultural Resource Services. Dr. Dasovich is also on the national board of directors for ACRA and recently won re-election for another 3-year term.

ACRA is the national trade association serving the cultural resources industry, which includes the diverse fields of: historic preservation, history, archaeology, architectural history, historical architecture, and landscape architecture. This the second consecutive year SCI has received an ACRA award in recognition of its cultural resource work.
