"Kaskaskia Regional Port District contacted SCI Engineering, Inc. to perform a wetland delineation and an archaeology survey on a 115-acre site. The property was located in the river's flood plain and was bisected by a creek. SCI provided a timely on-site investigation to delineate the jurisdictional waterbodies, but the services didn't stop there. Following the delineation, SCI quickly prepared a report and submitted the appropriate permit applications to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. SCI worked closely and proactively with our Port Engineer to devise a development plan that met both our developmental needs and received approval from the governmental agencies. SCI continually updated the Port District with the status of the project and exhibited professionalism to the highest degree.

We feel that SCI has saved the Port District considerable time and money. It has also been very convenient to receive a package of consulting services from the same company such as SCI offers. On this project alone, the Port District used wetland services and archaeological services and has recently been contacted about the construction services and testing that SCI offers. "It is my pleasure to comment on SCI Engineering's record of quality service on various projects for which I have been responsible. . . SCI was contracted to perform subsurface investigations, pavement cores, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, and laboratory tests in connection with the 1,000-ft. extension of the Scott AFB runway and the construction of an 8,000-ft. parallel taxiway. This work required SCI to coordinate closely with Base Engineering, Base Operations and the control tower to ensure that the drilling work would not interfere with Air Force requirements for use of the airfield. SCI fulfilled all of the contract operations in a timely manner.

SCI performed nuclear densometric testing for several million cubic yards of earthwork, and concrete and asphalt materials testing for over 100 acres of airfield pavement. . . the resident engineer staff - who worked directly with SCI - made sure to inform me of their high regard for SCI's responsiveness, cooperative attitude, and technical ability.

In my present position as a project manager with Burns & McDonnell, I have had the opportunity to work with SCI on a number of projects including a water tower, a 2-mile large-diameter water transmission main, miscellaneous road work, and the new Midfield Fire Station at Scott AFB. Your company's experience and knowledge proved invaluable throughout the cleanup. SCI's contacts with state agencies streamlined response time. Fees for SCI, its boring contractors and lab support services, were competitive and reasonably priced. SCI helped eliminate mistakes and accelerate cleanup to easily offset added cost we could have incurred. In effect, using SCI kept many of our costs lower than they may have otherwise been, especially since SCI was familiar with funding resources to help mitigate our cleanup costs. It would be easy to justify using SCI, should we ever need to call upon you again."
